IRENE HENDERSON Peacefully on December 2, 2007, Irene Henderson passed away at the age of 72 years. She is survived by her children, James Yarmill, Harriet Yarmill and Tom Henderson; her grandchildren, Ashley and Justina; her siblings, Keith Seidel (Aileen Huss), Ida Elder, Mary Wiebe, and Doris (Al) Ames; and several nieces and nephews. Irene was born October 17, 1935 to Carl and Marjorie Huss of East Braintree, MB. After graduating from high school, she attended Normal School in Winnipeg, and taught school in Moss Spur, MB. She returned to teaching in Redditt, ON following the death of her first husband, Harry Yarmill in 1958. As a single mother of two young children in the 1960s, Irene persevered with courage and determination, teaching her children by example, how to carry on in the face of adversity. We are forever grateful for these life lessons! Irene excelled at all forms of needlework, especially knitting, creating masterpieces, both functional and artistic. In 1967, she married George Henderson and enjoyed living in many places throughout Manitoba. A son Tom was born during this time. Following George's death, Irene's health declined. Despite all her life challenges, Irene always maintained her jovial nature and determination. She will be fondly remembered for her intelligence and often-irreverent sense of humour. The family wishes to thank the staff of St. Adolphe Nursing Home, Meadowood Manor, and D. Fredbourg for their kindness and years of caring for Irene. Cremation has taken place and a private memorial will be held at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined, however donations may be made in Irene's memory to a charity of one's choice. Go in peace, Mom, we love you!
