Date of Passing: Dec 05, 2007
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEILEEN WINIFRED HAWKINS (WOOSTER) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eileen on Wednesday December 5, 2007 in Nanaimo BC, at the age of 86. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Vic (Sue), Dave (Kathie), Lynne Yule (Dave), Garry (Mel); grandchildren, Darren, Wade (LeAnn), Tyler, Jessica, Bryan, great- grandchildren, Megan, Kiera, Hanna and Ty; niece Eileen Storozuk (Fred); as well as nieces and nephews in England, Australia and the United States. With her husband Albert (passed away 1998) Eileen came to Canada in 1951 and settled in Winnipeg to raise her family. She worked for many years at Eatons until her retirement in 1986. An avid golfer, she was a long-time member of the St. Boniface Golf Club. Later Eileen moved to Nanaimo and enjoyed retirement to it's fullest. A great fan of the CFL, Mum loved her Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Her last big party was at the 2007 Grey Cup in Toronto where she partied hardy with everyone. We'll all miss her. In honour of Mum's wishes, there will not be a service, but please raise a glass (or two) in her memory. That's what she would want. Donations to your local unit of the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. Thanks to Dr. Sheila Findlay for taking care of all Mum's aches and pains over the past years.
