Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMURIELLE KATHLEEN PETTYPIECE (nee HOLDITCH) Murielle Pettypiece passed away in the Calvary Place Personal Care Home in Winnipeg on Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at the age of 90. Born near Boissevain, Manitoba on March 12, 1917, she grew up on the family farm in the Fairburn District and received her education at the Fairburn School. After graduating, she met her loving husband, Hubert. They were married in 1938. They farmed in Ninga, Manitoba where Gram took great pride in being a wonderful homemaker and a perfect farmer's wife for many years. Gram and Gramp enjoyed Square Dancing together at many occasions. She enjoyed many hobbies but baking was her passion. She loved to use her special china dishes to serve her friends and family at gatherings. She was well known for her spotless house. Murielle was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Hubert Allan (1994); her son, Murray (1947); and her daughter, Marguerite on July 30, 2007; her parents, Leslie and Mabel Holditch of Boissevain; her brother, John Holditch; and all of Hubert's nine siblings. She is survived by her two granddaughters, Sarah (Marty) Rabu and Kyra (Rick) Zimmer, both of Winnipeg; her five great-grandchildren, Brookee, Amy, Landon, and Kandra and Cody; her three sisters, Isabel Martin of Winnipeg (formerly Boissevain); Betty (Jack) Kyle of Brandon, Jean Boyd of Vancouver, BC, sister-in-law, Ruth McKinnon of Brandon as well as numerous nieces and nephews. We would like to extend our appreciation to the staff of the Calvary Place Nursing Home. Each of you contributed to the quality of our gram's life and we are grateful for your care and compassion over the past several years. A small family funeral service will be take place at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 10, 2007 in Calvary Place Chapel, 1325 Erin Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Refreshments will be served following the service. A private family interment will be held at the Boissevain Cemetery in Boissevain, Manitoba. In lieu of flowers, donations in our Gram's memory may be made to: the Alzheimer's Society in memory of her husband, the CancerCare in memory of her daughter or the Calvary Place Personal Care Home.
