Happy Birthday Lolo! We miss you! I remember when Lola and Lolo would visit from BC, they would stay in my room. One day, I came home from work to find Lolo reading my journal. I was so embarrassed! I sheepishly chastised him that he should read that specific book, it's full of garbage. He just laughed and said that he couldn't put it down, that I should write a book. Maybe I will, just to humor him. Ingats, Lolo. Love, Rosie Cheeks - Posted by: R Magnussen (Granddaughter) on: Aug 26, 2015

I remember my grandparent's vegetable garden! I would walk in the garden while grandpa picked vegetables such as squash, tomatoes, peas, bok choy and corn (to name a few)! He would TRY to teach me how to maintain a vegetable garden and I would pretend to listen because I knew I could not maintain a wonderful, plentiful garden such as he has done! Years later when I bought my own house and attempted to organize my garden, somehow I managed to inherit grandpa's "green thumb." Now when my own kids picked raspberries from our vine, strawberreis, blueberries and vegetables, I would often think of my grandfather! I would tell his great grandchildren the wonderful garden their late great grandfather, and grandmother used to have, and I would fondly remember him! My best memory of my grandfather was when after the kids and I visited their great grandparents and putting the kids in their car seats, my grandpa walked to the car and gave me a box of vegetables. He told my kids to be good but they were too young to understand what that meant. He also told me I did well in life and I was a very good mother because my children loved me! I cried on the way home and my son asked me "mommy what's wrong?" I told him I have a very good grandfather. I miss you grandpa! If you can only see how my garden turned out! You would be so proud. RIP. - Posted by: Mercy (granddaughter) on: Jun 27, 2012
