Born: Jul 15, 1960
Date of Passing: Dec 06, 2007
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWAYNE V. CARLSON 1960 - 2007 It is with great sadness, that the family of Wayne Carlson announces his sudden passing on Thursday, December 6, 2007. Predeceased by his father Victor, he leaves to mourn his passing, his mother Grace; wife, Charlene; children, Kyla, Victor, Cassandra, Matthew; sisters, Wendy (Steve) Mestrovic, Cindy (Wayne) Hourd, and brother Rob (Bonnie), as well as, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Wayne was born in Winnipeg on July 15, 1960. Stories are told of his Nana's extreme joy of her first grandson. Anyone within close proximity of Nana Dora's porch knew that she finally had a grandson to spoil. Sisters Wendy and Cindy would need to adjust to life with a younger brother. Less than two years later, it was Wayne who would need to adjust, as a little red-headed brother came along to steal some of Wayne's thunder . With their parents guidance, the four children grew to be extremely close, not just as siblings, but as friends as well. Raised in the Weston area, Wayne attended Cecil Rhodes Elementary and Junior High Schools. His education continued with attendance at Tec Voc High School. Over the years, he had been employed with companies in the automotive industry. Like his father, Wayne had a lifetime passion for cars. In 1995, Charlene and Kyla came into his life. It was certainly a lifestyle change for the bachelor. Wayne was happy and proud that the three became a family. Over the next four years, the family of three became six. First came slim, trim Victor, followed by the blonde haired beauty, Cassandra, and last but not least, a rascal named Matthew. Three may be company, but six was a good start to a hockey team. As most good Canadian boys, Wayne liked hockey, but he loved his family. His family was everything to him. Although most fathers are proud, none could be prouder than Wayne. To say that Wayne will be missed is an immense understatement. He was a relatively quiet and shy man, who showed a genuine interest and respect for people. He had a soft heart for animals, which was displayed on numerous occasions with his kindness toward stray cats and dogs. Although large men aren't necessarily viewed as being gentle, he exhibited a gentleness not normally seen. In today's world, there seems to be fewer people like Wayne, sadly, one more has been lost. Lost, but not forgotten. Wayne, your family loves you and will miss you dearly. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at 1:00 p.m., at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 600 Minto Street. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, with a reception at the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre, 4000 Portage Avenue. Pallbearers will be Tony Sawicz, Sean Markus, Whip Wilson, Kevin Swanson, Mark Mestrovic and Mike Mestrovic. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation for the efforts of the paramedics who came to his aid at home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or the Canadian Diabetes Association. (Addresses needed) Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME 885-9715
