LEONARD (LEN) V. TURNER November 6, 1916 - December 9, 2007 Len died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, December 9, while in residence at the Arborg Hospital. He was predeceased by his brother Harold 1982, his first wife Violet in 1984, his second wife Bernice in 1999, and his youngest son Val in 2005. He is survived by his daughter Marilyn (Walter), son Harold (Shirley), daughter-in-law Dallas, eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Prior to his retirement in December 1977, Len was employed for 26 years by Christie Brown Co. Ltd. (Christies Biscuits). Len served with the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corp during the Second World War achieving the rank of sergeant. He was an active life member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 61 Winnipeg Beach. Len was a member of St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church Winnipeg Beach and also a member of the Lakeside Seniors Club where he served as past president and several other capacities. He lived a full life and will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 13 at 2:00 p.m. at the Gilbart Funeral Home, Gimli, MB. Cremation has taken place and interment will be at a later date. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made in Len's name to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 6l, Winnipeg Beach.
