Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMERVIN JOHN ENNIS May 7, 1936 - December 8, 2007 It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mervin Ennis of Treherne, MB, on Saturday, December 8, 2007, at the age of 71 at the Tiger Hills Health Centre, Treherne, MB. Mervin leaves to mourn his wife Faye; daughters, Sandy (Kelly) Bergman and Glenda (Victor) Falkowski; as well as two grand-daughters, Kiana and Kara; and numerous brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Mervin received his education in Treherne and worked at various jobs, until he became the Weed Supervisor for Victoria and South Norfolk Municipalities in 1963. In 1973 he accepted a position as a Sales Representative for May Baker (Rhone Poulenc), from which he retired in 1993. Mervin was acknowledged several times throughout his career in the weed control environment. Mervin was a charter member of the Kinsmen Club in 1965 and received lifetime membership in 1973. Through this organization he made a huge contribution to community projects. While living in Swift Current, Mervin had the pleasure of playing fiddle with the Swift Current Old Time Fiddlers. This experience and his love for old time music inspired Mervin to start the Southwest Manitoba Old Time Fiddlers upon his return to Manitoba in 1986. Heritage and kinfolk were extremely important to Mervin. The homestead became his sanctuary, where he spent countless hours enjoying nature and hanging out at the shack with family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tiger Hills Health Centre Palliative Care Unit, Treherne, MB R0G 2V0. Funeral service will be held from the Treherne United Church, Treherne, MB, on Friday, December 14, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. Following the service a luncheon will be held at the Treherne Community Hall and all are invited to attend.
