AGANETHA (NETA) REIMER (nee WIEBE) Suddenly and peacefully Aganetha Reimer died on December 9, 2007 at the Concordia Hospital in Winnipeg at age 89. She will be lovingly remembered by her five children, Henry (Elisabeth) Reimer, of Saskatoon; Tina Vandenheuvel of Winnipeg; Mary (Gerhard) Friesen of Winnipeg; Helen Friesen in Paraguay; Ben Reimer of Winnipeg, and by her 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Elisabeth Hiebert and Neta Peters of Winnipeg; Jacob Wiebe, Jacob Toews and Tina Bergen in Paraguay and sisters-in-law Margret Hiebert of Steinbach and Anna Toews of Winnipeg, plus numerous members of the extended Reimer family in Paraguay and Canada. Aganetha Reimer was predeceased by her husband Jacob B. Reimer in 1985 and by her son-in-law Jacob T. Friesen in 2006. Aganetha was born in 1918 in Manitoba, Canada, as the oldest daughter of Henry and Maria (Ginter) Wiebe. When she was nine years old her parents moved to Paraguay and Aganetha lived in Menno Colony for most of her adult life. She was a loyal and faithful support to her husband Jacob B. Reimer during the many years when he served as one of the leaders in the larger Mennonite community and beyond in Paraguay. At age 74 Aganetha moved to Winnipeg, Canada, to be closer to her children and she found a new home in the Kingsford Haus apartments and with the Springfield Heights Mennonite church community. Her Christian faith and her family were most important to her. The family wants to thank her church community for the support they offered our mother in the 15 years she lived in Winnipeg and for the hospital visits in the last few months. The family is also grateful to the staff at Concordia Hospital for the compassionate care they provided during our mother's hospital stay. Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 14, at 10:30 a.m. at Springfield Heights Mennonite Church, 570 Sharon Bay, Winnipeg with viewing prior to the service. Interment in Transcona Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations may be made to Mennonite Central Committee, 134 Plaza Drive, Winnipeg, MB. FRIENDS FUNERAL SERVICE 2146 Main Street 339-5555
