He was a most devoted son to his parents, and spent much time with his father, as Wolfe aged in his golden years. Earle held various positions with the Manitoba Provincial Government for over 35 years, yet his true dedication and commitment was to his wife, Freda and his sons. Married in 1963, Earle enjoyed 43 years of marriage to Freda. In Freda's later years, during a lengthy illness, Earle was constantly her side, giving her his full devotion, support and love. Earle was a proud Winnipegger. Of his close family Earle was the only member who was born and lived his entire life in Winnipeg. In his own quite and discreet manner, Earle lived a modest life, yet enjoyed and appreciated family and friends. He especially enjoyed the visits from his granddaughters, Chana and Shterna Blumes, during their summer visits from Brooklyn. Due to Freda's illness, Earle's granddaughters celebrated their Bas Mitzvah's in Winnipeg, giving Earle the opportunity to join and Schepp Yiddeshe Nachas. Many members of the extended Blumes family across North America participated. It was a bright and shining time for him. Funeral Services were held Monday, December 10 at the Chessed Shel Emes Chapel, with interment at the Hebrew Sick Benefit Cemetery next to his wife, and in close proximity to his parents and his in-laws. Rabbi Avrohom Altein, representative of the Chabad Lubavitch Movement in Winnipeg and Spiritual Leader of the Ashkanazi Synagouge officiated the Services, together with Rabbi Nosson Blumes of Brooklyn, NY.
