Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM LYCAR January 21, 1921 - December 12, 2007 The family of William (Bill) Lycar sadly announce his peaceful passing at the Gimli Community Health Center, surrounded by his loving family, after a lengthy illness. Bill leaves to mourn his loss, the love of his life Irene (Rene) who he celebrated 62 years of marriage with. They met and fell in love during the Second World War when Bill was stationed in England serving Canada. From this loving union five children were born: Roy, Larry, George, Danny and Maureen. He celebrated the births of eleven (11) grandchildren and seven (7) great-grandchildren. Bill also leaves to mourn his loss his sister Rose Tesluk of Edmonton, AB and brother Steve Lycar of Alma, MB , many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. Bill was predeceased by his parents George and Anastasia (Nellie, nee Petrynychen) Lycar. The children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren are, Roy (Betty) Lycar of Kelowna, BC, their children and grandchildren are Rob Lycar of Vancouver, BC, Ryan (Cheryl) Lycar of Kelowna, BC, their children: Caleb and Gabriel, Melanie (Rob) Wiseman of Kelowna, BC, their children: Jordan and Ian; Larry (Phyllis) Lycar of Gimli, MB, their children Laurel (Colin) Gillis of Dauphin, MB, Travis Lycar of Gimli MB; George (Colleen) Lycar of Calmar, AB, their children Kristen (Chad) Hansen of Millet AB, their children: Terence, Ashton and Brooke, April (Kurtis) Lycar of Millet AB, their child, Mackenzie, Leanne Lycar of Revelstoke, BC; Danny (Gloria) Lycar of Gimli, MB; Maureen (Lome) Haas of Winnipeg MB, their children all at home, Chelsea, Andrea and Trevor. Was there a greater Gigi ever? His grandchildren would tell you no! He was still playing volleyball with his grandkids into his 80s! His grandkids loved it! Bill unconditionally loved his wife, each of his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother, sister, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends and all the rest of his extended family. He will be truly missed. A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 17 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli with Mona Johnson officiating. Interment of ashes at a later date. We love you, husband, dad, gigi, great gigi, uncle, cousin and friend. Rest in peace. Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli in care of arrangements.
