GERRY SOLTOWSKI It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gerald Soltowski on December 14, 2007. Gerry was predeceased by his first wife Laurel in 1986, and leaves to mourn his loving daughter Brittany, stepson Blake and parents Victoria and Larry. We would like to thank Brittany for her final loving visits to her dad. He will be sadly missed by his friends Tim and Derek, his special friend Katie, and by the many co-workers at CNR that he befriended over his 30 years of service. Gerry was born in Winnipeg on November 3, 1957. He attended Westdale High School and graduated in 1975 started at CNR and worked there as an electrician until illness forced him to retire in early 2007. Gerry loved the outdoors and his pride was his cottage at Black Sturgeon Lake that he built himself. If you needed help with electrical and building projects, Gerry was always there to help out. He loved to cook up a feast on the B.B.Q., and enjoyed trying out new restaurants. Throughout his ordeal, Gerry wanted to do everything himself and had a very positive attitude. Gerry loved to talk and was never at loss for words. We wish to thank the staff at Riverview Health Centre for making his final days comfortable. A memorial service will be held at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (one block south of the Royal Canadian Mint), at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 19, 2007, with interment in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the reception centre. In memory of Gerry, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
