WILLIAM BERKELEY CRAWFORD January 17, 1934 - December l4, 2007 Sadly we announce the passing of Berkeley Crawford of Lac du Bonnet, Mb, aged 73 years, on Friday, December 14, 2007. Berk was predeceased by his parents, Emily and William Arthur Crawford; first wife, Jeanine Coulombe; son Dale and daughter Janet. He will be dearly missed by wife Yvette of 28 years, daughter Gaylene (Ronald), son William John (JoAnne), stepdaughter Lynette (Hubert), son-in- law Raymond (Linda), sisters Betty Hoban of Winnipeg and Wilma Lee of Calgary, Alberta; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Berk wore many hats during his life of employment; 27 years as a welder for Abitibi Pulp and Paper Co. at Pine Falls, Mb., 12 years as a labourer for Winnipeg Hydro at Pointe du Bois, Mb, and four years running a Service Station at Eagles Nest Marina. In his early years, Berk liked to pass the time hunting, fishing, boating and riding snowmobile. He was an active member of the Maskwa Snowmobile Club for years and even, took in a few of the club's Bissett trips, which were in some years tough in the harsh Manitoba winters. Some of his favourite places to spend time were his cabin at Sand River and the Lake Winnipeg beaches. In Berk's retired years, he loved to spend the summers at the lake place at Tall Timber Lodge and winters were spent playing sports and being involved with the many wonderful friends he made at the Pioneer Club in Lac du Bonnet. At this time, the family would like to Thank the RCMP staff at the Lac du Bonnet detachment, ambulance attendants of Pinawa and Lac du Bonnet, nurses and Doctors at the Pinawa Hospital, for their caring support on that stressful, winter day. In accordance with Berk's wishes, cremation has taken place and his remains will be interred by his family at a later date. If friends so desire, memorial donations in Berk's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the ALS Society. Russell's of Beausejour, Mb, are in care of arrangements.
