Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNE FRIESEN (nee POBORSA) Peacefully at the West Park Manor Personal Care Home, Anne Friesen of Winnipeg passed away at the age of 94 early Monday morning December 17, 2007. Anne was born and raised in the Pleasant Home District of the Interlake on September 27, 1913. She lived in various parts of Manitoba including Stonewall, Morris, and Flin Flon before finally moving and settling in Winnipeg. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing bridge and was an avid sports fan of both the Toronto Blue Jays and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. She was predeceased by her husband John, in May, 2002, two sisters Jean and Eva; and six brothers Walter, Mitch, Joe, Stan, Frank and Victor. She is survived by sisters-in-law Carol Poborsa (Winnipeg Beach), Blanche Poborsa (Salt Springs Island), and Ellen Poborsa (Toronto); nieces Eleanor Nicolson (Regina), Elizabeth O'Connor (Timmins), Noreen Waddell (Vancouver), Joan Swirski (Winnipeg), Kathryn Landry (Courtenay), Cynthia Camsell (Grande Prairie), Val Cox-Poborsa (Cumberland); nephews Don Poborsa (Winnipeg), David Poborsa (Toronto), and Andrew Poborsa (Calgary); as well as numerous grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 20 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel in Selkirk with interment to follow in the Holy Rosary Cemetery, Winnipeg Beach. The family wishes to thank the staff of West Park Manor Personal Care Home for their wonderful care and support they provided Anne these past few years.
