ROSE SMITH-NOTTER December 16, 1922 - December 16, 2007 Peacefully on her 85th birthday with her family by her side Rose passed away at Park Manor Personal Care Home. Rose is survived by her sons Bobby, Brent (Carol), Craig and daughter Bev (Eddy); grandchildren Lloyd, Kim, Brent, Corey and Trevor and great-grandchildren Emma, Talya and Kyra; brother Bill and sisters Tillie, Adeline and Frances and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Robert and her parents Peter and Christina; brothers John, Leo, Joe and Peter and sisters Helen and Kay. Mom was born in Macklin, SK. Her family moved to the Kerrobert, SK area where she grew up. At 18 she moved to Uchi Lake, ON where she met and married her husband Robert. They moved to Red Lake, ON in 1943 where they lived and worked until retirement in 1978. She was employed with the Hudson's Bay Company for 20 years in Balmertown. Mom enjoyed curling, baseball and gardening. In the last several years Mom struggled with Lewy Body Dementia. It was a sad long journey where she no longer knew family and friends. Thank you to the Park Manor staff for making our family and Mom so comfortable in her last days. A special thank you to Sophie for her loving care for Mom. Memorial service to be held December 20, 2007 at l:00 p.m. at Blessed Sacrament Parish with Father Vince Herner officiating. Cremation has taken place. Service to terminate at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to Park Manor Personal Care Home. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
