JILL ANN (DUXBURY) LEGGETT December 31, 1952 - December 18, 2007 She is survived by her loving, devoted husband, caregiver, friend and companion of 31 plus years Robert (Bob) Harold Leggett; cherished and beautiful children, Robert (Rob) Hugh Leggett and Carly Vera May Leggett; her dear Auntie Jean (Meek); special cousins, David, Diane and Carol; many other cousins and relatives in Canada and England, and the Leggett family. She is also survived by the loving and supportive McMillans of Victoria and Readers of Calgary. She was especially fond of her soul mate Jessie Reader, and her sister by choice Janice Graham. Jill was the only child of the late Elmer (1994) and Peggy (1986) Duxbury. She grew up in a loving and happy home in St. James with the Meek family living across the street. She graduated from Silver Heights Collegiate in 1970 and received her RN diploma from Grace Hospital in the class of 1973A. After several years of working at the Grace, VON and Victoria Hospital Jill left nursing to care for her Mom and other family and friends. She then worked as a child care aide in the Tiny Tot program at Southdale Community Club and for 10 years at Southdale Nursery School where she had many happy and fun filled times with the children. Jill loved babies, children, puppies, dogs, her family, many friends, talking, real tea, trips and vacations across Canada, the United States and Europe, her home, the lake, her stuff , Kenora, playing Euchre with Jack and Wilma, laughing with Dennis, chocolate, yoga, chips and coke, snowflakes, the sound of the ocean, marbles, swimming, flowers, massages, entertaining and everything about Christmas. She treasured her close friends and acquaintances developed during the stages of her life and considered them all her second family. Her legacy is her children - her heart overflowed with love for Rob and Carly, her husband Bob, her best friend Aunt Jean (her second Mom) and K.C., her dog, who passed away in 2004. One of her final comments over the last several months was that she had no regrets . She was a kind, compassionate and loving wife, mother, friend and soul mate who gave all she could and more. A special thank you to her many Guardian Angels, her weekly support group, Meenu Vij, Norma Bettess (Healing Touch), Margie Arason, Verlaine Boychuk, Janice Graham who helped take her to the other side, friends from far and near who made many trips to visit . Also to Dr. A. Maksymiuk and Jennifer Dunsmore, all the people at the palliative care wards at both St. Boniface and Riverview, and all the nurses at chemo. As a lasting tribute donations can be made to the Jill Leggett Children's Charities Endowment Fund at The Winnipeg Foundation or a charity of choice. A celebration of life will be held at St. Luke's Anglican Church, 130 Nassau, Friday, December 21, 2007 at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Robert Brownlie and Pamela Whyte officiating. Goodbye Goodbye my family, my life has passed I loved you all to the very last Weep not for me, but courage take Love each other for my sake For those you love do not go away They walk beside you every day Mom OXOXO The end Thomson In the Park Funeral Home and Cemetery www.thomsoninthepark.com 925-1120 Life stories may be shared with friends and family across the globe at www.mem.com
