Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN JOSEPHINE ZEBER (nee BIEDRON) On the evening of December 16, 2007, with family at her side, Jean passed away at Victoria General Hospital. Jean is survived by her sister Frances, brother Casey (Jean), many nieces, nephews and numerous friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband Joe, her father John, her mother Ksenia, her sisters Mary, Louise, Katie, Stella, brothers Joe, Henry and Edward. Born in Cooks Creek, MB on July 9, 1913, Jean attended Zora School for elementary school. In her younger years, Jean enjoyed attending local indoor and outdoor dances. She also liked to attend various concerts at the local community hall in Cooks Creek. At an early age, Jean worked as a housekeeper and at a laundry facility in Winnipeg. In the early 1940s Jean moved to Toronto and met the love of her life, Joe. On December 2, 1944 Jean and Joe were married by Fr. Klita at St. Mary's Polish Church in Toronto. Throughout their married life, Jean and Joe enjoyed dancing, travelling to New York, Chicago and other cities and also the companionship of numerous friends. After the untimely death of Joe in 1972, Jean decided to move back to Winnipeg to be with her family. Jean was very proud of her independence. She enjoyed living in the heart of the city where she could admire the numerous attractions the city had to offer. The family would like to thank the staff at 185 Smith St., Health Sciences Centre, Riverview Health Centre, Misericordia Health Centre and Victoria General Hospital for all the kindness, care and support shown to Jean. Prayers will be said Friday, December 21, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michaels Roman Catholic Church in Cooks Creek, MB with burial to follow in St. Michaels Cemetery. Father Martin Bradbury presiding. Pallbearers will be John Tober, Fred VanAertselaer, Mike Purtill, Joe Reitmeier, Len Biedron, Kim Turner. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
