JENNIE (JEAN) SKRINSKI It is with deepest sorrow the family of Jennie Skrinski announces her passing on December 17, 2007 at Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 79. Jennie is survived by her beloved son Peter, daughter-in-law Marlene, grandson Kyle, sister-in-law Elsie Budey, special niece Stephanie, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and family members in the Ukraine. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Jack, parents John and Anna Budey, and brother Steve Budey. Born in Western Ukraine on August 10, 1928 to John and Anna Budey, she came to Canada at a very young age with her parents who settled in Rosa, MB. In 1944 she married Jack Skrinski, where they farmed in Rosa until 1954 at which time they moved to Winnipeg with their son. Jennie was very active with the UCWL at the Blessed Virgin Mary Church for many years, where she was always ready to lend a helping hand. She enjoyed singing in the church choir, and looked forward to making perogies with her close friends at church. Retiring from the Queen's Printer gave Jennie more time to enjoy her home and garden as well as her church activities. She loved her family dearly and always made sure they did not leave her house without a hot meal. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff on Level 5, Unit 3 at Seven Oaks General Hospital for their excellent care and concern of Jennie. Prayers will be held on Friday, December 21 at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, December 22 at 10:30 a.m. with Rosary prior at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, 965 Boyd Ave. with Rev. Fr. Volodymyr Bashutskyy officiating. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined, if friends so desire, a donation in Jennie's memory to Blessed Virgin Mary Church or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
