TOM BOSKO With great sadness the family of Tom Bosko announces his passing on December 18, 2007. He was predeceased by parents Tony and Annie Bosko (nee Tkach); brothers, Tony and Joey; mother and father-in-law Rachel and Wilbert Fawcett. He is survived by his loving wife Juanita; daughters, Medea (Dean Clifford), Sabrina Bosko (Gord Ledingham), Shamara (Jay McGurran); grandchildren, Kelton, Brynn and Carmen (Clifford) and Cavanagh (McGurran); his siblings, Andy (Julia), Walter (Grace), Eddie (Thelma), Clarence (Agnes), Mary (Dave), Fred (Joan); numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Tom was born in Selkirk and lived in East Selkirk his entire life. He worked at the Selkirk Mental Health Centre for over 36 years, first as an attendant and then as an RPN. He most enjoyed front-line nursing working directly with patients. He retired in 2003 to a life of leisure. His greatest love was camping and fishing at Wanipigow Lake, where he was the first boat out in the morning, rain or shine. No doubt the fish population will greatly increase for those left trolling the lake. He had many adventures and made many friends on his journeys there. He also enjoyed spoiling his pet cats, tending and harvesting an oversized garden, amassing a heap of firewood with his new electric log splitter (what a machine!), giving unsolicited advice to his daughters, and especially every minute spent with his grandchildren. He was one-of-a-kind! We will miss him and his wacky sense of humour immensely and cherish each and every memory. Prayers will be said on Thursday, December 20 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, December 21 at 11:30 a.m. in the Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church, Selkirk, with Fr. Jerry Talarski officiating. Interment will follow in the East Selkirk Cemetery. I saw an old fisherman out in a boat, rocking alone on the rippling waters. Are you fishing for sport? I called out to him, trying to be friendly, but he only waved. Thinking that maybe he couldn't hear me to well, I called out again in a louder voice. Are you fishing for food? I asked him this time, hoping I'd get a response. Once again, he simply waved, as his boat drifted a little more. As he drew nearer, his face became clearer, and soon I knew who he was. Are you fishing for me? I asked Him this time, knowing the answer before He replied. The fisherman smiled as he held out his hand and said to me, Come aboard, Child. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.

I have been living in BC now for many years,, but still remember my meeting Tom and his love for music made me join his band and I have many memories of playing with him and having fun. I am sorry and sad he has left us so soon but he lives on in my heart and some day I will be joining him and maybe we can make music again, like we did in the old days. - Posted by: Don tasiukS (A friend from many years ago,, high school years in Selkirk, MB) on: Oct 21, 2014
