IVY MARY MACCOLL With sadness we announce the passing of our mother, Ivy Mary MacColl on December 17, 2007 at Poseidon Care Centre. We take comfort knowing that her weary heart is now at rest. Ivy was born on July 1, 1923 in Toronto, and moved with her family to Winnipeg at six months of age. She was the youngest child, and only daughter of Charles and Emily Owen. On July 27, 1945 she married Ewen (Hugh) MacColl and they were married for almost 61 years, until Hugh's sudden passing in 2006. In her youth Ivy enjoyed speed skating, and as an adult she curled and bowled well into her seventies. She was a longtime member of St. Stephen's Anglican Church. In the latter part of her life her greatest joy was being Grandma to Christopher and Andrew and Nanny to Kelsey and Drew. As well as her parents, and her beloved Hugh, Ivy was predeceased by her brother Wes Owen. Ivy will be greatly missed by daughter Laurel Jones of Peterborough, Ontario, her husband Keith, and their sons, Christopher and Andrew, and by daughter, Janice Shiaro of Winnipeg, her husband Charles, their daughter, Kelsey, and their son Drew. She also leaves nieces, Doreen, Gwen and Louisa. Cremation has taken place, and a private family memorial will take place at a later date. We would like to thank the staff at Poseidon Care Centre where Mom has resided for the past 18 months. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Winnipeg Humane Society or The Heart and Stroke Foundation would be a welcome expression of sympathy. Arrangements are entrusted to LeClaire Brothers 775-2220
