DOREEN ANNE MASSIE (WAKE) December 21, 1938 December 21, 2007 After a valiant struggle with cancer Doreen Anne Massie passed away at Riverview Health Centre on Friday December 21, 2007 with her family and niece (Wendy) by her side. Mourning her loss are her husband Jack; children, Shelley, Brin and Flanna (Chris); grandchildren, Sam and Charlie; her brother Grant; sister and brother-in-law Annette and Harry Minuk, many nieces and nephews, and the Collins family. Doreen was predeceased by her parents Lawrence and Ivy Wake. Doreen was a long time resident of Transcona and was very active in the community. She loved animals, music, singing and painting. She was an accomplished artist. Her happiest days were spent with her husband Jack and her family and many friends at their cottage in Matlock. The family would like to thank the staff of CancerCare Manitoba and Riverview Health Centre for their skill, compassion and kindness. A celebration of Doreen's life will be held at Transcona Memorial United Church, 209 Yale Avenue, on Thursday, December 27 at 10:25 a.m. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to CancerCare Manitoba. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
