HAZEL ISABEL OLIVER (PRIOR) November 17, 1912 December 24, 2007 With great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother on Monday, December 24, 2007 at the age of 95 at Red River Place, Selkirk, MB formerly of Marquette, MB. Hazel was born on November 17, 1912 in Strathclair, MB coming to the Meadow Lea district with her family at a young age where she attended Meadow Lea School. In 1930 she married Albert Oliver and they operated a cattle and grain farm along with an oil and transfer business in the Poplar Heights district. She was employed by the Harry Ashdown family in Winnipeg and Kenora for fifteen years. She thoroughly enjoyed working there and the friendships with the rest of the family carried on with her for a lifetime. Hazel enjoyed spending time with family and friends and being active on the family farm. In her younger years she took part in many curling bonspiels around the district and also played baseball on the local softball team. Predeceased by infant son in 1933, husband Albert in1990, and son-in-law Angus, 2007. She will be greatly missed by her two sons Ernie, Russell (Myrna) and daughter Deidre; grandchildren Roberta (Gerry), Connie, Pamela (Paul), Darlene (Jack), Joy (John), Derwin and their mother Alma, Wayne (Bonny), Cheryl (Ron), Brian (Dahinda), Brenda (Cliff), and Carlene; 24 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandsons.
