GARY ROSS BENSON JR. April 1, 1958 - December 16, 2007 It is with heavy hearts that Gary and Helen regret to inform you of the passing of their eldest son, Gary Ross Benson Jr. Gary, 49, passed from this world at 6:35 p.m., December 16, 2007. His battle with cancer is over. Gary received loving and considerate care from all the staff, doctors, nurses and assistants at the Riverview Health Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. From a child who aimed to please, he grew into a young man who valued his independence. In his final days he fought to maintain that independence. Gary was determined to live his life his way. He left the family home in Dryden, Ontario to settle in Winnipeg where he met his wife, Alison, and made a home for the two of them. Gary remained a good son and brother; a well-mannered man that supported his family. As a child he enjoyed the Canadian game, as well as the adventures of Cub Scouts! Gary never demanded and gave back more than he ever took! Gary is survived by his wife Alison; we, his parents Gary and Helen; his brothers, Robert, Michael and Harry and his sister Judy; as well as numerous other relatives. Gary will be missed by all. Donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society on Gary's behalf.
