(AGNES) JOYCE BOBROWSKI (nee THOMSON) July 3, 1930 - December 24, 2007 It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Mom passed away on December 24, 2007 at Extendicare Tuxedo Villa at the age of 77 years, after a valiant struggle with colon cancer. Mom was the youngest of eight children born to James and Agnes Thomson on July 3, 1930 in Morris, MB. She will be very sadly missed by her two daughters Vicki Tronrud, and Debbie Small (Rick), and her three sons Deryl (Patty), Richard (Lorraine), and David (Virginia); 12 grandchildren, Terry Tronrud (Erin), Michael Tronrud (Wendy), Shannon (Sean), Jeffrey (Jenna), Daniel Bobrowski, Brad and Eric Small, Nicole (Brent), Melissa, Mathew, and Kayla and Dylan Bobrowski; six great-grandchildren, Devon, Teya, Tyson, Tristan, and Andi Tronrud, and Karly Amos and number seven is due any day. The father of her five children, Vic Bobrowski (Ivy), Joyce is also survived by one sister Mable Jorgenson, one brother Don Thomson (Carole), numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends. Five very close friends: Margaret Schneider, Lorraine McLeod, Ed and Marion Bruno and Doug Yale. Mom was predeceased by her parents; three brothers Jim, Bill, and Murray; two sisters Sadie Jorgenson and Alexia Bertie; her son-in-law Andy Tronrud, numerous brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, one nephew, and many friends. Mom spent her childhood growing up in Morris, MB. In 1953 she married the love of her life and our family was started. In 1957, the family moved to Winnipeg and resided in Silver Heights until 1968. In January 1969, the family moved to Charleswood where Mom resided until her passing. The thing Mom loved most was spending time with her children, grand and great-grandchildren. Much of that time was spent at White Lake, which was her home away from home since 1948. She enjoyed puttering in the yard, entertaining and spending time with the many friends she had made over the years. In her younger years, Mom was an active figure skater, curler, and she played the trumpet in the town band. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, crafts, crossword puzzles, and, until recently, spent hours doing jigsaw puzzles. There are too many words to describe our Mom but the first words that come to mind are LOVING, GIVING, KIND, ENTERTAINING, HARD WORKING and let us not forget STUBBORN. She performed each one of these to the ultimate extent and passed all of these characteristics on to her children. We want to thank all of the people who cared for Mom throughout her illness. Dr. Latosinsky and his staff at CancerCare Manitoba, the staff on 3 East at Riverview Healthcare Facility, and especially the staff on Station 1 at Extendicare Tuxedo Villa. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, January 7, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Assiniboia Christian Center, 3390 Portage Avenue with Lt. Col. Maxwell Ryan presiding. A reception will follow the service. At Joyce's request, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba or a charity of one's choice. Arrangements entrusted to: Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 885-9715
