BRIAN JACKSON MCLEOD It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of our husband, father and papa Brian McLeod. Peacefully with his family by his side Brian passed away Friday, December 21, 2007 at the Grace Hospital at the age of 78 years. Brian will be sadly missed by his wife Donna (nee Bannaytne) of 45 years of marriage as well as his children Judy (Ron Sauriol), Janice Christensen and Neil McLeod and his beloved grandchildren Brittney and Bradley Christensen and Samantha, Sydney and Savannah Sauriol as well as his grand-dog Breeze. He was predeceased by his parents Norman and Irene McLeod; brothers Alan, Jack and Graham McLeod and his son-in-law Greg Christensen. Brian has touched so many lives as he spent his whole life in Charleswood. He greatly enjoyed being around friends and family and enjoyed conversation with the many people he has encountered. Brian was employed with the City of Winnipeg for 29 years in Streets and Traffic. While working he obtained an Arts Degree at the University of Winnipeg. He volunteered many years at the Varsity View Community Club when his children were young and in later years volunteered for the Charleswood Historical Society and Caron House. Brian was very passionate about his many jobs and worked very hard for others. He was quite fond of travelling to The Niagara Region to visit his daughter and family and would spend hours at the Welland Canal watching the ships go by. Brian had a love for reading and even though he was struggling with Parkinson's disease, he was able to continue his passion of reading three newspapers a day. Brian struggled with Parkinson's disease for seven years but was never one to complain. He was a strong, quiet man and was most happy when surrounded by his loved ones. In compliance with Brian's wishes no funeral service will be held. In lieu of flowers donations in Brian's memory can be made to the Parkinson Society of Manitoba, 302- 171 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 1M4.
