Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET (MADGE) GRACE JAMES April 26, 1924 - December 26, 2007 Peacefully on December 26, 2007 at the Grace Hospital, Madge passed away after a lengthy illness. She was predeceased by her sister Connie McCrindle in 1996. Auntie Madge will be sadly missed by her nieces and nephews John (Erna) McCrindle, Paul and Sara, Pat (Bob) Stanley, Noah, Adam and Laura. Madge was born in Winnipeg and grew up in Elmwood, moving to Charleswood in 1931, where she spent the rest of her life. She enjoyed golf, badminton, and going to the Bomber games with friends. In the early forties, Madge took over the family business James Dry Goods on Henderson Highway and ran it for 46 years until her retirement in 1987. Madge was a kind and gentle woman who was always eager to help. Madge was generous and charitable to the needy and will always be remembered by generations of her customers for her exceptional service and personal touch. The family would like to thank the staff at West Park Manor who looked after Madge for the last six years and the doctors and nurses at the Grace Hospital 5N. Cremation has taken place and at Madge's request no funeral will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Madge's memory to a charity of your choice.
