Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET (PEGGY) McGOUGAN Peacefully, on December 25, 2007 at the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, Margaret (Peggy) Macdonald McGougan passed away at the age of 94 years. Peggy was the beloved aunt of her eight nephews and nieces: Jack Balderstone (Arlene); Pat Prokop (Larry); Barb Zayac (Dave); Chris Morgan; Wendy Nesbitt (David); Alison McCallen (Jim); Tom Carther; Laurie McNaughton (Marc); as well as numerous great and great-great-nieces and nephews. Peggy was predeceased by her parents and three sisters Ena Balderstone (Chic), Marjorie Wiens, and Isabelle Carther. Survived by brothers-in-law Ike Wiens and Al Carther. Peggy was born August 21, 1913 in Winnipeg but lived her younger days with her family in St. Andrews. After moving to Winnipeg she began working at Sanford Evans and later at TCA (Air Canada) for 25 years, retiring in 1975. Peggy travelled extensively to many parts of the United States, Canada, Asia and Europe. Peggy was an artist, crafter, camper, gardener, golfer and a Blue Bomber football fan for many years. She enjoyed spending time with family at Ponemah and contributed significantly to the life of her church through her handicrafts. Even in her failing health, she was deeply interested in the lives of her friends and relatives. With the help of Home Care, Peggy remained in her own home until December 2005. She resided at the Rosewood Village until June 2007 and relocated to the Middlechurch Home where she remained until her passing. The family would like to acknowledge the care and compassion shown to Peggy at the Rosewood Village (Evergreen House) and D1 at Middlechurch Home. Your kindness did not go unnoticed. A celebration of Peggy's life will take place at St. Peter's Anglican Church, 755 Elm Street on December 31 at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend Phil Barnett officiating. Cremation has taken place and interment will follow at a later date in St. Paul's Middlechurch Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined.
