BOB J. ROBERTS May 30, 1920 - December 29, 2007 Peacefully, on December 29, 2007 Bob passed away at the Victoria Hospital at the age of 87. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Mary Roberts; sister Margaret; son Gordon. Robert will be sadly missed by his wife Verna; family Pat (John), Arlene, Ken (Heidi), Karin (Darcy), Tricia (Rob), Caitlin; great-grandchildren, Alex, Rachel, Jackson, Brandon, Tyler, Madison, and Riley. Bob will also be remembered by his brother Glen (Robin), many nieces and nephews as well as Robert Jr., Rae and their families. Bob was born in Winnipeg and as a child moved to Mafeking and spent many years in Northern Manitoba. He was a Second World War veteran and a proud member of the legion for many years. Bob had the heart and soul of a minstrel and was prone to burst into song, charming or sometimes startling all those within earshot. Every song he sang seemed to mark the events, places or people in his wide and varied travels; and Bob always had a story in his back pocket - Bringing memories in to the light of day. He could delight any child at his knee with a simple strum of his guitar and there had been many over the years that were dear to his heart. Special thank you to wonderful friends June, Roberta, and George for their love and support. The family would also like to thank the homecare workers who took great care of him over the last four years A private funeral service will be held.
