MILDRED VERONICA OSHOWAY (nee THOMPSON) Millie Oshoway passed away peacefully on December 20, 2007 at the age of 90 years old. She is survived by her two loving grandchildren, Jeff and Aynslie, as well as many close friends. Millie was predeceased by her beloved son Rick, her husband Joe, her parents and three brothers. Born and raised in Selkirk, MB, Millie worked for many years at the Selkirk Mental Hospital were she made numerous lifelong friends. She also spent much of her time participating in the activities of the Legion Ladies Auxiliary Branch 42, volunteering for events and donation drives. When not busy with community activities, Millie loved painting and tending to her beloved plants and flowers that meant so much to her. She would eventually move with her son to Winnipeg and spent her final years in the wonderful care of the staff at Fred Douglas Lodge. Special thanks go out to the Ladies Auxiliary Branch 42 for their love and support throughout Millie's life and to the staff at Fred Douglas Lodge, Oak Unit, who provided her the most excellent care possible. Millie will be dearly missed by her grandchildren whom she cared for so much, and by all those who knew and loved her. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 3 at 2:00 p.m. in the Selkirk Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Stan Richards officiating.
