ELEANOR JANE (EL-JANE) BEVERLY June 22, 1924 December 29, 2007. A resident of Poseidon Care Centre, she died peacefully in her sleep in her 84th year. Beloved Aunt of Jane Harding, Pat Beverly, Belle Beverly and David Beverly. Great Aunt of Terrina, Max, Lucy, David and Anne. Dear friend of Shirley Lush. Predeceased by her father Ira William Beverly, mother Lilabel Beverly, brother William McGregor Beverly (Mac), sister-in-law Elfrieda Beverly and her favourite niece Ann Beverly. El-Jane was born in Vancouver but raised in Winnipeg, living for many years on Waverley Street then moving to Lanark Street. Poseidon was only the third place that El-Jane lived in Winnipeg. She graduated from the University of Manitoba with a degree in chemistry. Her entire working career was spent with the Health Protection Branch of Health and Welfare Canada. She traveled frequently across the prairies and Northern Canada with the RCMP, presenting evidence at trials. Her hobbies included travel (she traveled extensively around the world), contract bridge (she had many masters points), and golf. She was a 60-year member of the St. Charles Country Club and was recognized during the club's Centennial Celebration in 2004. She was also a member of the Hole in One Club .
