Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAMES PATERSON KEEN James Paterson Keen, passed away peacefully at the Lions Prairie Manor, Portage la Prairie, MB on December 30, 2007, at the age of 90 years. He is survived by his wife Edith of 56 years; son Martin (Sandra), Sarah (Pat), Kelli, Jamie, Marci; daughter Elaine (Kurt), Kathleen, Jonathan; daughter Audrey (Hermann), Curtis, Darren, Anna; sister Kathleen Daniels; brother Harry (Marj) Keen and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Brenda (1977); brother Richard; and sister Grace. Jim was born in Winnipeg on November 4, 1917. The family moved to Mill Creek in the early 1920s and then onto High Bluff a few years later followed by a final move to their homestead in Ossawa in 1930. Together with his brother Richard, they purchased the SE-25-13-4 where in the spring of 1942 they started their own dairy farm. He met and married Edith Wells in October 1951 and together they raised four children. Jim served as a trustee on the Reaburn School Board, he served nine years on the Marquette Co-op Board, and was a member of the Reaburn Ridge Riders Horse Club. They also attended and supported the Poplar Point Alliance Church. Memorial service will be held at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall, MB on Friday, January 4, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Luncheon and fellowship to follow at the Stonewall Legion. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Lion's Prairie Manor, Portage la Prairie or to a charity of one's choice. The family would like to express our thanks to the staff at the Lion's Prairie Manor for the wonderful, compassionate care that they gave to Jim.
