KIM SEWELL November 12, 1965 - December 29, 2007 Kim passed away unexpectedly on Saturday December 29, 2007 at the age of 42. She was born to Otto and Kirsten Kirzinger in Winnipeg, where she lived her whole life, though many of her fondest memories were of the summers she spent in Kikhavn on the coast of Denmark at the family's summer cottage. Kim was predeceased by her mother at a very young age, which she now joins in heaven along with her children Sandy, Fini, and Munchkin. She is survived by Gary Sewell, father Otto (Madeline), sister Kia, brother Derik (Jan), nephew Logan, niece Kayla, niece and godchild Kira, close friend Doris, many relatives in Denmark and Germany, and her latest little joy, Benji. Kim graduated from Silver Heights Collegiate and went on to Red River Community College where she obtained her certification in Food and Restaurant Management. She spent many years in restaurant management, including a couple of Winnipeg's finest restaurants. Through this career she met her future husband Gary while they both worked at the Old Swiss Inn. Kim continued to pursue further education through the University of Manitoba and took great pride in completing her Applied Counseling, later putting those skills to good use in work and in volunteering at places such as Riverview Health Centre. Kim loved to work out and she was very proud to complete the Manitoba half marathon despite previously suffering a badly broken leg. Kim's father was a chef and she especially loved his culinary delights. She also had the culinary gift and enjoyed cooking, baking and trying new foods. She was always the first one to find the newest chocolate, exotic food product, or ice cream. Kim was well known in the community. She could often be seen walking her dogs even in the fiercest weather. Everyone seemed to recognize her. In keeping with her vibrant personality she enjoyed decorating (in the latest fashions) her yellow Groovy Baby' bug, bringing many smiles to the faces of those that drove by. Still, Kim faced great adversity during her life. Throughout she kept fighting to become a stronger person and continued to exude that vibrancy and radiance. Kim's 42 years on earth seemed far too short to those whom she touched with her generosity, bright smile, deep laughter, and love. Her memory would be humbly honoured by those people continuing to help others. Come celebrate Kim's life and some of her favorite things and if you feel like wearing your groovy baby outfit she would be delighted. The celebration will take place at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 6, 2008 at the Church of St. Stephen and Saint Bede on 99 Turner Avenue. Donations will be gladly accepted at the church with proceeds going to a charity close to Kim's heart. Kim was grateful for the support of the twelve step program. God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference. Kim, we are all so proud of you!
