ELIZABETH ALICE FOTHERINGHAM Peacefully on Wednesday, January 2, 2008, Elizabeth passed away at Concordia Hospital in her 94th year. She is survived by her son George and daughter-in-law Janice. Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband, Victor Thomas Fotheringham on January 6, 1985. Elizabeth was a devoted wife and mother. She was an excellent cook, baker, and fudge maker. She was always trying to make life better for her family. Even in the last few years, with varied medical conditions, she was always trying to do things to help her family. It was this determination that kept her going all these years. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, health care aides, therapists, and staff at the Concordia Hospital for the care and compassion shown to Elizabeth over the years. The family would also like to thank Drs. Kisil and Waters of the Health Action Centre, along with Nurse Tanis, for the excellent care Elizabeth received for many years. The family also thanks her Home Care team, especially Louise and Kim, who looked after her in her suite. The family would also like to thank the Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic Service, Station 24, for their prompt response, excellent care, and at times, great sense of humour. Special thanks to Gwen Howe for all her assistance, advise, and friendship during Elizabeth's recent illness. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Kildonan Community Church, 2373 Main Street. Reception to follow. Private family interment will be at Kildonan Presbyterian Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations can be made to Kildonan Community Church where Elizabeth was a member for many years.
