Born: Nov 03, 1926
Date of Passing: Jan 02, 2008
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTELLA (RICKI) ANDERSON (nee SKORODYNSKI) November 3, 1926 January 2, 2008 It is with deepest sadness that we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother, Stella, at the Golden West Centennial Lodge in Winnipeg on Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at the age of 81 years after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease, breast cancer and bone cancer. Mom will be forever remembered by her daughter Cheryl, son-in-law Lawrence and grandson Greg (Cheri). Mom is also survived by her sister Olive (Bob) of Windsor and nieces in Windsor and Toronto, Ontario. Mom was predeceased by her loving husband Clarence (Andy) in 1993, her parents and her oldest sister Mary. Stella was a hairdresser and owned her own business in Brandon for many years before deciding to slow down, sell her business, and work part time until she fully retired. Mom was active in the Quota Club of Brandon as well as a hairdresser examiner for the Province of Manitoba. She enjoyed travel and spent several weeks on her dream trip to the Orient. Alzheimer's slowly destroyed Mom's memories and abilities, but she always found a laugh and a smile right to the end in our one sided conversations. In compliance with Stella's wishes no formal funeral service will be held and her family will celebrate her life in a private gathering. Many thanks to the 2nd floor staff of Golden West Centennial Lodge who did their utmost to make mom's last days as comfortable as possible. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Stella's memory to the Brandon Humane Society, 2200 17th St. E. Brandon, MB R7A 7M6. Mother and Daughter Hearts Intertwined. I was her Child, Then she was mine. My hand in her hand Then her hand in mine. Daughter and Mother, Hearts Intertwined.
