Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGERTRUDE MARION PITT On Tuesday, December 25, 2007, with family at her side, Gertrude Marion Pitt passed away at the age of 93 years, while on a visit to Toronto. Gertrude was born April 2, 1914, in Winnipeg, and except for a short time lived here all her life. The majority of her working career was as a legal secretary. She retired in 1979. She is survived by her son Robert (Renee) and granddaughter Melanie of Toronto, and sister Josephine (Al) of Bobcaygeon, Ontario. She was predeceased in 1997 by her beloved husband Harold, and in 1952 by her beloved husband Charles Bjorklund. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway, Winnipeg, Manitoba. The family wants to thank the staff of Toronto Emergency Services and St. Michael's Hospital for their caring attention. In accordance with her wishes, cremation will follow the service. Interment will be held at Brookside Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Gertrude's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, The Heart and Stroke Building, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3L 0K6. We were so sorry to have heard the news. We have been neighbours since we moved to the street in the spring of 1997. She was always so nice to chat with when meeting her on the street or on the way home from Safeway. She was a dear lady and we will miss her. Our sincere condolences go out to her family.
