JEANNIE MONTGOMERY (nee JAMIESON) Peacefully, on December 31, 2007, at Golden West Centennial Lodge in St. James, Jeannie Montgomery, aged 98 years. Jean was born in Jarrow-on-Tyne, Durham, England, in 1909 and immigrated to Canada in 1913. She resided in St. James most of her life. Jean was predeceased by her loving sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Duke Hannah, and by brothers Bill, Sam, John, Bob and Jim. She is survived by sister-in-law Grace Jamieson of Winnipeg, nieces Shirley Morash and Mary (Bill) Greatorex of Dartmouth, NS, Janet (Bill) Kushneryk of Winnipeg, Diane (Dick) Bennett of California, Roberta (Brian) Kearns of St. Albert, AB, Dawn (Norm) Pottinger of Yellowknife, NWT, Dale (Barry) Heieie of Transcona, Judith Jamieson of Calgary, AB, Gerri Randall and Barbara Brolly, both of Vancouver, BC; and nephews Bill (Liz) Jamieson of Transcona, and Gordon (Linda) Jamieson of Calgary, AB. Jean is also survived by many great- and great-great-nieces and nephews. Our immense gratitude goes out to the wonderful, caring staff at Golden West Centennial Lodge for their loving and compassionate care. In accordance with Jean's wishes, no funeral service will be held. Instead, nieces Barbara Brolly and Gerri Randall will host a celebration of her life for family and friends in Winnipeg in March 2008. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations in Jean's memory be directed to the Golden West Centennial Lodge, 811 School Road, Winnipeg, MB R2Y 0S8.
