MINNIE WITT Peacefully on January 2, 2008 Minnie entered eternal rest at East View Lodge in Neepawa at the age of 91 years. She was the eldest daughter of Arthur and Juliana Post. Mom attended the Grass River School and after completing her schooling she went into Winnipeg to work. While in the city she met and married William (Bill) Witt on October 31, 1936. They lived in the Grass River District for a few years and in 1945 they moved to the Amaranth area where Minnie lived her remaining years on the farm. On October 9, 2002 due to ill health she entered the East View Lodge in Neepawa. Mom was a very busy lady. She and her friend Cecilia Elke did much of the cleaning and painting for the Government in our area. Mom also worked at the local store for about 17 years, retiring in 1981. Retirement gave her more time to spend in her flower beds and garden. Her evenings were spent playing cards with Lil Parsons, Alta Symesko and Jenny Cooper. A very special Thank-You to Alta Symesko for without her help and friendship mom would not have been able to stay in her home as long as she did. Minnie is survived by her son Don (Lil) of Lavoy, AB and one daughter Darlene (Clarence) Dumanske of Amaranth, MB. Also three grandchildren Logan (Tami) of Amaranth, Dawn of Winnipeg, and Wayne ( Diane) of St. Francois Xavier, MB.; six great-grandchildren Jenni (Ben), Curtis, Leah, Jordan, Carley and Tyson. Also two great-great-grandsons Keegan and Sheldon of Brandon. She has numerous nieces and nephews and one special godchild Bunny Dietrich of Portage la Prairie. She is survived by two sisters Violet Oswald of Portage la Priarie and Edna (Carl) Skanderberg of Plumas; one brother Eddie Post of Flin Flon; one sister-in-law Sigrun Post of Neepawa. She was predeceased by her loving husband William (Bill) Witt on October 25, 1977; a daughter in infancy; her parents; one brother Walter Post; five brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law. Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 7, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Amaranth Memorial Hall, Amaranth, MB with Rev. Don Lee officiating. In lieu of flowers, should friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society Of Manitoba, Unit 10 120, Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 4G2 or to a charity of one's choice.
