ELISIO MOTA It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elisio, our beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather on Wednesday, January 2, 2008, at Seven Oaks General Hospital. Elisio was born in 1919 in Vinhal, Beira Alta, Portugal. He immigrated to Winnipeg, Canada, in 1970 to join his oldest son, Arménio. He was joined by the rest of his family in 1971. Elisio was a special and kind person, loved by all who knew him. He was the pillar of his family and took great pride and joy in bringing everyone together for the precious Sunday afternoon family gatherings and other special celebrations such as the yearly birthday barbecue. Elisio will join his beloved wife, Maria de Jesus, his brother, sister, and parents, in Heaven. Elisio will be lovingly remembered by his seven children Arménio (Julieta), Fernando (Maria do Carmo), Inês, Carlos (Fatima), Elisa (Antonio), Luciano, Filomena; his 13 grand-children: Joe (Pat), Paula (Rui), Zenaida (Jason), Catarina (Paulo), Harman (Sheri), Carlos (Isabelle), Albert (Grace), Elisa (Brandon), Carlos, Tony, Dina (David), Natalie and Lenny; and his six great-grandchildren: Diogo, Inês, Hayden, Pedro, Brianna and Hunter. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 8, at 10:00 a.m. also at the Church with Rev. Msgr. Maurice Comeault. P.H. as Celebrant. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery. This is an excerpt from his wife's favourite prayer book, which he always treasured: Doce Coraçao de Maria, Sede a minha Salvaçao. Dulcissimo Jesus Nao sejais para mim Juiz Mas Salvador.
