Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMICHEAL DARRYL WOLOSHYN May 16, 1991 - January 1, 2008 It is with great sorrow that we announce the senseless passing of Mike Woloshyn, aged 16, of St. Andrews, Manitoba, beloved son of Denise and Darryl and brother of Kevin and Karra. He will be dearly missed by his parents, Denise and Darryl, and siblings, Kevin and Karra. Joining the family in mourning this tragic loss are grandparents, Jerry and Nellie Woloshyn, and Diane and Harry Marchuk (Marilyn); aunts and uncles, Gloria Woloshyn, Shirley and Ralph Herlick, Judy Woloshyn, Wendy and Brian Gambrel, Randy and Joan Woloshyn, Kevin and Paula Woloshyn, Kirt and Erica Marchuk, Vickie Marchuk and Mike Clarkson, along with numerous cousins. Mike also had many dear friends with parents he considered to be his own. Mike was born in Selkirk, Manitoba and raised in St. Andrews where he attended the Lord Selkirk Comprehensive High School in the 11th grade when he was taken from us. He was majoring in electrical and had plans on going into business with his dad come graduation. Mike was known for his huge shining heart, always ready to greet you with a big hug, open arms, and a Hi Mr. or Mrs. whoever. He had a unique way to make people feel good, special, and included, no matter where he was. Mike's passion throughout his short life was his participation in all sports. His love of golf, football, fishing, snowmobiling, camping, volleyball, basketball, lacrosse, soccer, thrill-rides, and of course, hockey, gave him the special personality we all came to know and love. Mike had special times with many of his friends and cousins, like visits to Valleyfair, Wisconsin Dells, Florida trips, Edmonton, Detroit Lakes, the cottage in Lac du Bonnet, and Erik Lake. Other special interests we all know of, was his time spent playing video games, Texas Hold'em, Rummy, board games, and of course, the O.C. Mike was able to work at various jobs, including Dairy Queen, Canadian Tire, Hart Son Plastering, always side jobs with his dad, and especially Rantec Industrial, which was more fun than work, most times. Mike talked endlessly about getting his drivers license, not only to cruise around, but especially to keep the promise he made to Gee Gee to take him for coffee. This promise will have to be fulfilled in heaven, at the great A W. He was a teammate, #3, #4, #5, and #34, a friend, a boyfriend, a student, a co-worker, a son, and family member, and even a pain in the butt, that will be so dearly missed but never forgotten. So when your thoughts do turn to me know that I would not have you cry, but live for me and laugh for me, cause when you are happy so am I. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 7 at 11:00 a.m. in the Selkirk Rec. Complex with viewing for one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Micheal's memory to the Lord Selkirk Royals Hockey Club, Lord Selkirk Minor Hockey, or the Diabetes Association. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
