DONALD HARRY ROBERTSON Donald Harry Robertson, born October 1, 1925, died January 6, 2008. He is survived by his beloved wife Loréne Beatrice Robertson (nee Cruden); sons, Donald Colin (Maureen Boyd) of Ottawa, Ian Stanley (Lily Schiemann) of Calgary and David Neil (Magdalene) of Regina; grandchildren, Alison, Sean and Conor, Brigitte and Bronté, Sacha and Tristan Robertson; younger brothers, Robert Neil (Judy) of Sault Ste. Marie and Stanley Swan (Dorothy) of Westbank; sister, Kathryn Violet Condra (John) of Winnipeg; sister-in-law Margery of Edmonton, and brother and sister-in-law Charles Ewart and Eileen Cruden of Winnipeg and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Donald in 1944; brother, John in 1966 and mother, Violet in 1976. Don served in the RCAF from 1943-1945. After his discharge, he enjoyed a career in public broadcasting, beginning with CKY in Winnipeg in 1945 and then with CBC, which took over CKY, from 1948 until his retirement in 1984. He worked for CBC stations in Winnipeg, Edmonton, Toronto and Regina as a technician, technical producer, producer and manager in both radio and television. Before and after retirement, Don enjoyed travel with Lorene and hobbies at home. Family and friends were most important. A service in celebration of a life well lived will be held in All Saints Anglican Church at 142 Massey Road, Thursday, January 10, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Flowers are gratefully declined. Should friends wish, donations in memoriam may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of the Pasqua Hospital, 4101 Dewdney Ave., Regina, SK, S4T 1A5, to which the family express gratitude for the care given during his last weeks, allowing him to begin the final journey from his home.
