ALAN MARK AKISTER March 3, 1954 January 5, 2008 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing our beloved husband, son and brother on Saturday, January 5, 2008. Alan will be greatly missed by his wife, Debra; mother Kathryn Akister; his brothers John and David and his brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Ronald Akister in 1996. He born and educated in Winnipeg, receiving his BA from the University of Manitoba. Alan was a Human Resources professional with his career spanning employment at CN, Health Sciences Centre, St. Amant Centre, and the Government of Manitoba. He developed his faith through his attendance at St. James Gospel Chapel. In 1997 he and Debra were married, turning a 15 year friendship into a loving marriage that ended all too soon. Alan loved travelling, especially by train. Some of his fondest childhood memories were of family train trips throughout Canada and the United States. Alan also enjoyed boating and was a dedicated music lover, especially passionate about the Rolling Stones. Alan always remained youthful in his outlook and would never have grown old at any age.
