CHARLES ELLIS HEARN, CD 1928 - 2008 Peacefully in hospital with loved ones present January 2nd, 2008. He is survived by Beverley Hearn and their children Richard and Ken (Julie), grandchildren Adam and Sera, his sister Mary Long, and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Don and parents Charlie and Elsie. Ellis is also survived by Madeleine Hanes, her children Jan (Wendy), Teri (Clayton), and Marcia (Steve) and her grandchildren Chelsi, Tyler, Adam, Alix and Connor. After a career in Winnipeg and Ottawa as an electrician, working at CN Railway, Canada Post, and at each airport, he retired in 1988 with 40 years of public service as Manager, Maintenance and Engineering Facilities, Ottawa International. Ellis loved the water from time spent at the cottage on Lake of the Woods, as a sea cadet in Saskatchewan and Manitoba, and onboard several ships sailing the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans as a proud Naval Reservist serving in both HMCS CHIPPAWA and HMCS CARLETON, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. He returned to the cadet organization serving as the Commanding Officer of RCSCC Falkland and HMCS ONTARIO, ON. He retired as a highly respected Commander with over 32 years military service. His associations included the Legion, White Ensign Club, Navy League, NOAC, and Masonic Lodge. Retirement meant time to enjoy boating and traveling from coast to coast in his campervan. Ellis will be missed by his loved ones and friends. Donations may be made in his honour to the Legion or White Ensign Club. Service in Arnprior, ON
