Marlene was born in North Battleford, SK on September 16, 1949 and raised both there and in Saskatoon. She often spoke very highly of her Grandma Erwin and her Aunt Emily, who were like mothers to her. She always spoke lovingly of her brother Leo. Close as two peas in a pod, those two. She said she could always count on Leo, no matter what, he would never do her wrong. Her life centered around her daughter Kimmy and the three grandchildren, always giving them her opinion and advice. Whether they wanted to hear it or not was just too bad. First married to Ernie Lockert, she had her only daughter Kimmy. She decided it was time for a change and moved to Winnipeg where she met and married Thomas Knopf in 1984 and lived out her life in River Hills, MB. Mom enjoyed gardening and would can and freeze everything she grew in the fall. She was a talented oil painter and crafter and has left a large collection of all her wonderful works of art for us to remember her. Rest in peace, my wonderful mom, not one second of the day will ever pass as long as I breathe that I am not lovingly remembering and missing you. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will be held at a later date. SOBERING FUNERAL CHAPEL CREMATORIUM, Beausejour 268-3510 or MB toll free 1-877-776-2220
