Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLAURI E. MAKI It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Lauri, age 81, on Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at Grace Hospital. Lauri married Margaret Fleck 50 years ago on August 17, 1957. Along with his beloved Margaret, numerous nieces, nephews as well as relatives in Finland are left to cherish his memory. He was predeceased by his parents Jack and Lempi. Lauri was born on October 3, 1926 in Kurikka, Finland, and immigrated to Sudbury, Ontario at the age of two and one-half years. Receiving his education in Sudbury, Lauri worked for the City of Sudbury in the Time Office. He then worked for C.I.L. Explosion from 1954 59, and then joined Building Products and Concrete Supply where he worked in sales for 31 years. Lauri's funeral service will be held on Monday, January 14, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. in the Silver Heights United Church, 199 Garrioch Avenue (corner of Mount Royal Road and Ness Avenue). For those who wish additional parking will be available in The Seventh Day Adventist Church parking lot located on Ness Avenue. A graveside service will take place at the Park Lawn Cemetery in Sudbury at a later date. A special thank you to the staff at the Grace Hospital for their care, compassion and support. In lieu of flowers a donation in Lauri's name may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3 or to the Grace Hospital Foundation, 300 Booth Drive, Winnipeg, MB R3J 3M7, or to a charity of one's choice.
