Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANK HECTOR JAEGER It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Frank Jaeger on Wednesday, January 2, 2008. He is survived by his loving wife Miriam (Mims) and his three children, Claire (Ken and his children Brayden and Meghan), Laura (Joey), Bruce (Marla); and nine grandchildren, Sari, Matthew, Reese, Samantha, Danielle, Liam, Jake, Noah, and Griffin; his brother Martin (Monique); sister-in-law Tania and brother-in-law Jerry (Cynthia). Frank was born on September 7, 1931, and spent his youth in Elmwood. As a young man he enjoyed lacrosse, was an avid curler and loved to reminisce about his days as an advisor for the B'nai Brith youth. He was one of the last campers to enjoy the old B'nai Brith campsite at Winnipeg Beach and passed on this love for camping to his children. He began his adult life working in a lumber camp in British Columbia. Over the next 60 years he was involved in varied endeavours. These included International Harvester, Pepsi, Great West Auto Parts, Dells Candy, Coldstream and then settled into a long association with Service Master that spanned almost 40 years. Throughout his career he was proud of the many relationships he developed and his commitment to hard work and honesty. Frank's passion for the business kept him there until the end. Frank was proud of his involvement with a number of service organizations including; The Masons, Sertoma, and the Variety Club. His leisure time was spent enjoying crossword puzzles, beating Tania at scrabble, brunches on the deck at the lake, picnics at the park, time with his grandchildren and his furry friends. Most of all Frank loved a good conversation and relished a spirited verbal jousting match with any unsuspecting victim. Graveside service was held January 3, 2008, at the Shaarey Zedek Cemetery. Pallbearers were Gary Dolovich, Jeffrey Dolovich, Dr. Frank Hechter, Joel Kaplan, Martin Jaeger and Ken Dufault. Thank you to Cantor Jerry Daien for officiating so compassionately. The family would like to thank friends and family for all their love and support throughout Frank's illness. Also, thank you to Dr. Czarnecki, Dr. J. Lezak, Dr. D. Wiseman, and Dr. C. Bernstein for their special care of our father and husband. If friends so desire contributions can be made in Frank's memory to the Jewish Foundation. CROSSING THE BAR Sunset and evening star, And one clear call for me! And may there be no moaning of the bar, When I put out to sea, Twilight and evening bell, And after that the dark! And may there be no sadness of farewell, When I embark; For though from out our bourne of time and place, The flood may bear me far, I hope to see my pilot face to face When I have crossed the bar. Lord Alfred Tennyson

I was inquiring about renting Frank's former Service Master building on Higgins when I looked up his phone number, his obituary came up and I am shocked to hear of his passing so late. We don’t subscribe to any newspapers and no one mentioned it to us so we were unaware. I enjoyed a delightful business & relationship for over 25 years with Frank. I valued his wisdom on many life issues. I leave these thoughts for his wonderful family members: "I believe that babies are born to serve other people, because when they come into our life, it is no longer the same. I believe the purpose of our adult life is to serve other people as we get rewarded in life in direct proportion to how much service we are to others. I believe we 'Go-home' to serve other people, as I always review my actions, results, direction and life path, every time I attend a funeral. Frank was of great service to his family, his customers, his friends and me and I look forward to being with Frank and GOD for eternity."
