AUDREY DARLENE GILLER Darlene Giller passed away peacefully on January 9, 2008, at Royal Jubilee Hospital, Victoria, BC with family at her side after a lengthy illness. She was 75 years of age. Darlene was predeceased by her parents, and by her husband Al in 1989. She is survived by her sons, Scott and partner Laureen, Grant and wife Siobhan, and Keith and his wife Frankie-Jane. Darlene was born March 22, 1932 in Brandon, Manitoba, to Jack and Marjorie Smith. She grew up in Treherne and moved to Winnipeg where she worked at a dairy until after she and Al were married on May 15, 1954. After raising three sons she worked at the Winnipeg Clinic until her retirement where she made lifelong friends. She was a devoted wife and mother who dedicated her life to her family and friends, including her beloved pets, and was especially close to her many cousins. She was exceptionally generous to her loved ones and to many charities, and her kind and gentle spirit will be greatly missed by all. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Winnipeg Humane Society. Memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 16 at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB.
