SIDNEY RONALD HALL 1920 - 2008 In the early morning hours of January 13, 2008, beloved husband, father, and grandfather Sidney Ronald Hall passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family. Sid's memory will be tenderly held forever by his devoted and loving wife, Aileen, daughters, Beverley Hall-Zerebecki (Bob), Lynn Code, Geri Isfeld (Brent), Lori Payne (Ernie) and Kim Prencipe (Tony). His grandchildren, Kari and Lora Zerebecki, Erin McLauchlan (Andy), Andrea and Jason Isfeld, Amanda Payne, and Danielle and Crystal Prencipe were the lights of his life! They will eternally cherish their memories of wonderful adventures with Grandad at West Hawk Lake, the love and laughter at family gatherings in Winnipeg and the memorable stories and life lessons he shared so readily. Sid was born in Ashton-Under Lyne, England on May 22, 1920. His extended family relocated to Stoney Mountain, Manitoba, where he happily lived until he enlisted in the Seocnd World War in 1939. Upon return to Canada, he continued his service to the public when he joined the Winnipeg Police Department. Sid later transferred to the Eaton's of Canada company where he did an exemplary job of structuring and implementing Security protocol for the Winnipeg stores as well as all the other Eaton stores from the Lakehead to the Rockies. Sid retired in January 1979 and spent many wonderful years travelling Canada, the United States, England and Mexico. He was an avid reader, outdoorsman, gardener and enjoyed the camaraderie of curling and hockey. His love of carpentry allowed him to realize his dream of designing and building his cottage - a legacy of love, cooperation, and family values. Sid was predeceased by his infant daughter Pamela Aileen, father Sidney Hall, mother Elsie Hall, sister Eva Kobrinsky and brother Ralph Hall. Special thanks go out to Dr. Cowden and the nurses of the third floor (North) at the Grace Hospital. Also, our appreciation is extended to the WRHA Home Care nurses and aides who were involved in Sid's daily life. A private family memorial service will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home to celebrate the life of this amazing man. Remembrances may be made to CancerCare Manitoba in Sid's memory. Arrangements entrusted to: Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 885-9715
