Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATHLEEN ANNE PLACKTIS February 13, 1965 January 13, 2008 Kathleen was born and raised in St. Boniface, Windsor Park. She graduated from Windsor Park Collegiate in 1983 and received the typing award. After graduation Kathleen attended the University of Manitoba in the education faculty. More recently, Kathleen was enrolled in the nursing program at Red River Community College. Her accomplishments of the successful completion of her pharmacy technician program, with Honours from Winnipeg Technical College, permitted her to be employed in either her native Canada or the United States. This and her weight loss were just two of the tremendous goals that she attained. She lived for a time on Corydon Avenue in Little Italy. Later she returned home to help take care of her parents. Following the death of her father Paul, in July 2003, Kathleen and Theresa started a new life in a condo, South of the Border. She was a beautiful lady and there was nothing that she wouldn't do to help a friend or stranger. She was always there for everyone. Kathleen liked to celebrate all occasions. Her calendar was chocked full of special dates, all family and friends' birthdates and anniversaries. Kathleen was loyal. You could always count on Kathleen. She just wanted a better life for herself. Kathleen was a great listener and had just a wonderful sense of humour and personality. She was genuinely interested in what was happening in someone's life. Her wit was sharp and she had an excellent sense of style. Her many hobbies and interests brought joy and comfort to herself, family and friends. The delicious baking and intricate crafts. She was a prolific reader, who loved mysteries, like McEwan, Woods, Grisham and especially new mystery writers. Her talents will be sorely missed. Kathleen was predeceased by her father Paul and grandmothers Aurelia and Kay. She leaves behind to mourn her mother Theresa, brother Alan (Margaret), Ryan, Megan, brother Charles, brother Alphonse (Alfie), his wife Alison, Casey, Harvey and Robin, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends including her close friends Karen and Alison. May she finally have the peace that she has always deserved. We would like to thank Dr. Smil for her special care. A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 17 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 1531 Pembina Hwy. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kathleen's memory may be made to The Canadian Mental Health Association, Manitoba Division. Arrangements entrusted to: VOYAGE FUNERAL HOME CREMATORIUM 1531 Pembina Hwy 284-7500

Just thinking of Kathleen...she passed this day in 2008... Where the Angels Go to Play Angels solely appear in the dreams of mortals for the conscious mind could never behold the winged graces born of heaven So in the moments where my sleep mingles with wake I invite the angels to visit my dreams so they may shower me with their beauty and enjoy a place to play I fly and flutter around the dreamspace as they form the haze of my head into the heaven that houses them and as I could feel myself waking, I would plea for them to stay so that I may wake up with the angels. To my extreme sorrow, they were quick to decline claiming the rules of heaven forbid them. My disappointment great enough to draw tears from stone, I opened my eyes, casting away the playground in my mind. However, even in my dreams, the clouds heard my calls for one morning I awoke and with beauty beyond earthly possibility, my angel lay next to me. Epic Dan. - Posted by: Terry Placktis (Mother) on: Jan 13, 2015
