PETER ROMANIC It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Romanic in the early hours of January 12, 2008 at Selkirk General Hospital. He was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Katharina, brother Louis and sister Mary Mazur. He is survived by his sister-in-law Emily Romanic, nephew Leo (Ileane) Mazur, nieces, Rose (Lawrence) Kowalchuk, Evelyn (Fred) Raback, Langley, BC, Mabel (Jim) Skelton, Chilliwack, BC, Sylvia Dempster, Louise Keith, and numerous great-nieces and nephews. He was born on July 10, 1923 in Rossdale, MB. Peter grain farmed in the Oak Hammock area all his lifetime. He was an avid sportsman. He loved his fishing, hunting, curling, living his life to the fullest. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, corner of Pacific and Sophia Street, Selkirk, MB with Fr. Peter Chorney officiating. Interment to follow in St. Clements Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Peter's name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3L OL6. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
