Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMURRAY COWAN KERR It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of our much beloved husband, father and grandfather Murray, on Monday, January 14, 2008. He died peacefully in his sleep at the age of 86. He is survived by Marguerite (Bonnie), his treasured wife of 65 years, his daughter Georgine and husband Jim and their children, Wendy, Trevor, Kim, Aaron, his son Ian and wife Rose-Mary and their daughters, Katryna and Genevieve, his son Alan, and numerous relatives and friends. He touched the lives of many and was known for his kindness of heart and his willingness to engage in a conversation on any subject, at any time- even if the person he was talking with was a total stranger. After retiring from a lengthy career at North Star/ Shell Oil, he and Bonnie loved to spend summer days at their cottage at Victoria Beach with family and friends. Through golf and his walks, Murray made lasting friendships with many beach residents. For 60 years, he was an active member of Westminster United Church. He befriended many ailing people over the years though his service with the AOTS Organization. He represented Westminster on the board of the Winnipeg Presbytery for 25 years and serviced on the Board of the Manitoba Health Organization. He joined the Board of Fred Douglas in 1968 and served as President from 1979-83. Funeral service will be held Monday, January 21 at 11:00 a.m. at Westminster Church, Maryland Street and Westminster Avenue. Interment of the cremated remains will take place at a later date at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that those who wish send a donation in his memory to the Westminster Foundation of Westminster United Church, the Fred Douglas Society, or the Middle Church of Winnipeg. Arrangements entrusted to: Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 885-9715
