JERRY HELGASON January 21, 1946 - January 12, 2008 Jerry Helgason, aged 61, of Keewatin, Ontario, passed away on January 12, 2008, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born January 21, 1946, in Des Moines, IA, to the late Clarence and Mary Helgason. Upon graduation from Warren Central high school in 1964 Jerry began his career working as operator/owner of J J Tire in Shelbyville, IN. He moved to Canada in the 1970s where he owned and operated Northwestern Flying Service in Nestor Falls and numerous hunting and fishing camps throughout Northwestern Ontario. At the time of his death, Jerry was employed by Century 21 Reynard Real Estate Ltd. in Kenora, Ontario. He was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Helgason in 1995. Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Wanetah Helgason, stepsons, Jeff Marschke of Indianapolis, IN, and Bryan Marschke of Las Vegas, NV, and a brother, James Helgason of Greenfield, IN. Private graveside services will be held in Indiana. A Celebration of Jerry's Life is being planned for Kenora, Ontario, in the spring 2008. Further details will follow. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
